about

"In May 2019, I went on my first overseas trip solo for a weeklong residency at the WORM Klangendum Sound Studio in @worm_rotterdam where I was able to record a wide variety of weird & retro synthesizers. Distilled down to four songs, and mastered by Angel Hair Audio."
-Sam Gas Can

The sounds on this album sit out of time. Like you found a blank VHS with some weird markings on it, and you can't tell if it's from '89 or '09...

A VCO-worshipher's dream! It's all here: Deep bleeps, cathode ray meditations, found-sound collage, bubbly synths, long-form arpeggio workouts, blitzed modulation, a disregard for structure while also retaining a sense of melodic guidance.

Pure weird synthesis at its best.
